Discovery Exercise 1 -- Blogging & RSS

I can personally see using RSS feeds to keep up with new developments in the library and information science field. Also, I'm in an academic library, so add keeping up with academia, information literacy trends, and several professional organizations including MLA and ALA.

For our patrons, our library offers RSS feeds for new acquisitions, new faculty publications, and library news and events.

I was intrigued by the "make your own medical journal" article. I could see promoting this to faculty and helping them set up "journal" in their own fields of tables of contents they wish to monitor.
